The sun setting over Smart Fortwos - The Danish Smart Club mini-meet in Køge

Smart mini-meet in Køge

After a longer solo roadtrip, out looking at some of Denmarks history, I drove to the Danish Smart Clubs monthly mini-meet in Køge.

First stop was the I drove by the World War I era sea fort “Mosede Battery”, where it was bone chillingly cold.
I took a walk all the way round it, but quickly got back to the fortwo, and it’s heated seats, that got me nice and toasty before my next stop.

My second stop was the old missile site at Stevns lighthouse, where the Danish air force had one of their Hawk missile sites during the Cold War.

From here they were supposed to guard Copenhagen against incoming hostile jets, before they got close to the Danish capital.

Stevns was not as cold as the sea fort, so I took my time exploring the site, before I had to drive to Køge, and join the other Smartcar owners.

6 cars came to Køge, where we kept ourselves warm on coffee and by “kicking tyres” on each others cars.

All six who showed up were driving Fortwo 451’s.

Two cabriolets, four coupés, one Brabus, one very nice “Sharp Red Edition” and as one purist exclaimed rather relieved, “Zero smarts with trailer hitch”!

After sitting in the rain for quite a while, we packed up our chairs and tables, and moved into the far warmer “Stacy’s Diner”, where we were seated in the children’s area (only place they had tables large enough to accommodate us all.

Burgers, hotdogs, cheese fries, coke, milkshakes and sundae icecreams were devoured, before I had to find my Smart and hit the road.

Stacy's Diner has a row of "For US Cars only" marked parking places outside, that used to be frequented by mostly 50's and 60's classics. I don't think they were planned for Tesla owners :D

All in all a fun afternoon, with a bunch of like minded enthusiasts. Already looking forward to the next Smart Klub Danmark mini-meet!
