If you want to have a cupholder in your Smart Fortwo, you will have to buy one, and the original dual cupholder, wins the competition for Most useless, and Worst designed cupholder ever!
The cupholder consists of two 8,5 cm wide, and only 5 cm deep holders, and a rubber “ring”, that can be swivelled out to the side, if you want to bring something ridiculously large with you. A 2 litre water bottle for instance.
The only place I’ve travelled where something this size could be regarded normal, is the US. But in Europe even 0,6 litre drive in Coca-Cola cups are two small for the holder, and forget having a standard 0,5 litre water- or soda bottle in them:
What are the alternatives?
Well so far I’ve only seen some rather crude 3D printed products, where the cupholder has a reasonable diameter.
I’m pondering about what to do, to mod these into something usefull.
