A lot of countries have a system, where cars regularly have to attend some kind of vehicle inspection, in order to stay on the roads. Denmark is no different.
Here we receive a notice about two months before we need to have our car inspected.
Cars have their pollution levels checked, tested their brakes, the bodywork is inspected for rust, and the tires, suspension, steering etc is controlled for safety issues.
Vehicles over 3500kg are inspected every year, those under are checked every second year, from the forth year from initial registration.
Classic cars that are more than 35 years old, can be registered as veterans. Then they will only have to be inspected every 8 years, but the veteran status has limitation on use and yearly mileage.
